What year is your character: Second
Life thus far.... Kotetsu was born in the back of a taxi on the way to a hospital. He grew up on the 'wrong' side of town with a mother who cycled through boyfriends like most people go through socks. Kotetsu actually knew his biological father, who might be living in Kusa or might have moved again. Kotetsu never knows until he get his yearly birthday card from the man.
Kotetsu grew up running wild in dirty streets and back alleys with his best friend Kamizuki Izumo. The two were in and out of trouble regularly, and Kotetsu regarded Izumo's house as more of a home than his own. Whenever his mother's current boyfriend didn't get along with Kotetsu, the boy headed off to Izumo's, and crashed there as long as it took for his mother to find herself a new man.
Kotetsu repeated fifth grade due to his expulsion from one school, and failed the eleventh due to his grades. When he finally did get out of school he started working immediately at a fast food joint. By the time he was graduated, Kotetsu was living full time with Izumo and his mother. There didn't seem to be another direction for his life to take, but Kotetsu religiously saved money at the urging of Izumo, who was determined to get out of the slums.
When an estranged uncle of Izumo's died, Kotetsu knew Izumo would grab the money and get himself out of the slums. He wasn't really surprised when Izumo declared he was using the money to pay for college tuition, but he was surprised when Izumo declared Kotetsu was going to college too.
Through massive studying Kotetsu and Izumo both made it into Sarutobi University, and Kotetsu has managed to keep himself afloat and passing. His father recently started sending money to help Kotetsu cover the costs of 'bettering his life.'
